The marketing and HR divisions have average faculty, not good enough to satisfy students but enough to keep them at peace. Students claim that the finance faculty is unreliable and you have to study on your own. There’s no visiting faculty coming in and students feel that they losing on something important because of this.

You are sure to be overwhelmed by the sheer magnificence of the campus; it’s colossal. Apart from the MBA department, there’s an Engineering college and a Dental college as well. The college is pretty old and the infrastructure isn’t all that great. Students claim that although they don’t face any major issues, the infra could have been better, especially the seminar room which is slightly cramped up and projectors which take a long time to start up. “Wi-Fi needs to be set up soon” says a student.

Placements are way better than many other MBA colleges under VTU but still drastically lag behind those of engineering, may be because the engineering placements are extraordinary at MVIT. Those opting for marketing companies and profiles are quickly recruited while those in HR & Finance need to be really lucky to get a job on campus.

Sir M Visveswaraya Institute of Techbology (MVIT) is located about 1km off the Bangalore International Airport Road in Yelahanka, a distant suburb in North Bangalore. Although it’s far from the city centre, it isn’t completely inaccessible as BMTC buses drop you within walking distance of the college. Bus facility is also provided

There are two hostels at Sir M Visveswaraya Institute of Technology (MVIT).
Obviously the new one is better, but the old hostel is decent too.

Sir M Visveswaraya Institute of Technology (MVIT) is quite stubborn about attendance issues. 75% is mandatory and everyone complies with it.
MVIT’s distant location doesn’t stop any of them from coming right from central Bangalore or even South Bangalore; at least half of the people here are from proper Bangalore. A lot of them come from North India too. All in all a very intermingling and friendly crowd, some nerdy types as well, and you can expect to have fun all four years.

“Kalanjali” counts as the biggest celebrations event at Sir M Visveswaraya Institute of Technology (MVIT). It’s held in October. Apart from that, various other festivals like Technofest, E-fest, Susanskruti & department level fests are organized at the college. But all of these festivals are organized by the engineering college, the MBA department students only participate.

Above average placements & faculty and a very interactive crowd make Sir M Visveswaraya Institute of Technology (MVIT) one of the better MBA in marketing colleges under VTU in Bangalore. For the other two departments, think twice before finalizing it.

About 2-3 seminars are held each semester giving a good exposure to the students. Additionally an Industrial Visit (IV) is also arranged for.
