Students claim that apart from 2-3 senior professors most others are freshers having not more than 2 years of teaching experience. Another disadvantage is that no visiting faculty are allotted for any of the subjects here.

The Nitte Meenakshi campus is vast and exactly as you would expect a college in such far-off region to have. The campus is shared by the Engineering College, the MBA & PGDM departments and the First-Grade College. Academically, the infrastructure is unexceptional and mediocre; roomy classrooms, well-ventilated labs and a library which just suffices. Wi-Fi and sporting facilities are two things that are lacking at present but are expected to be taken care of soon.

Placements are worse than the engineering college; hardly 10% of the students get placed every year. Marketing companies, banks and BPOs are the major recruiters offering salaries which are nothing to make your parents feel proud about.

Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) is about 3 kms off the Bangalore International Airport Road close to the Yelahanka Airforce Base in the Northern extremes of Bangalore. The location of the college is very remote and inaccessible as BMTC buses drop you at the highway but nowhere near the college, so travelling by BMTC buses is out of the question. There are just trees, grass and may be a couple of farms around the campus. Students either travel by their own vehicles or by the college bus which ferries them from Yelahanka or Naganhalli.

Hostels are tolerable as well, the only issue being WATER SHORTAGE! Be prepared to attend classes without taking a bath, as no one can guarantee if water will be available the next morning. Food is another issue but only for some. The girls hostel is relatively worse compared to the boys hostel.

Astonishingly, it’s fabulous! Quite unexpected at a college this distant from the city. Enthusiastic, approachable, sophisticated and highly urban. Bangalore forms the majority and is followed by people from North Indian states. As is the case with other MBA institutes of its league, most students are freshers from B.Com & BBM backgrounds.
Campus Life isn’t too stressful except for the attendance part which unlike the engineering college, takes a toll on those fond of bunking.

The MBA department organizes its own management festival “Numero Uno” in the first week of March. It’s an inter college fest and colleges around this area do participate. Apart from that students also participate in the Engineering college Festival “Anaadyanta” which is an inter college cultural festival happening sometime in March every year.

Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) is heaven for those who are more into self-studies and want no distraction from the outside world as its remote location makes sure you don’t waste much time lingering around. While fees are pretty reasonable, highly mediocre placements NMIT fall behind to around the 15th preference amongst MBA colleges in Bangalore.

Seminars are rarely organized (about once in a month) and even if they happen, they aren’t interesting enough to attract students. Industrial visits are the only time when students at the Department of MBA in Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) are exposed to the practical world. Students are taken for one Industrial visit every semester.
