Bharti Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Management Studies & Research (BVIMSR) is one of the oldest management colleges in Mumbai and has a certain reputation attached to it. However, the teaching faculty isn’t as good as you would expect. It’s fantastic; no doubt, just that your expectations are high when you enter a well-established college and BVIMSR fails to deliver. Lectures of the visiting faculty are much more refreshing and fortunately they are the ones to take subjects that have university exams. Additionally students face a tough time getting good internal marks, especially those who have been in the bad books of the professors.

Bharti Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Management Studies & Research (BVIMSR) is one of the oldest management colleges in Mumbai and has a certain reputation attached to it. However, the teaching faculty isn’t as good as you would expect. It’s fantastic; no doubt, just that your expectations are high when you enter a well-established college and BVIMSR fails to deliver. Bharti Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Management Studies & Research (BVIMSR) is hosted inside a refurbished new building which flaunts of a classy entrance lobby, air-conditioned classrooms equipped with LCD projectors & audio systems and swanky seminar and conference halls. Entire building is Wi-Fi enabled and provision for hostels is also satisfactory.

Placements are above average amongst MMS colleges in Mumbai University. BVIMSR records nearly 100% placements and the salary offered is a modest 4 lakh an annum. During summer internships too, those applying through the college are assured of 3-months training internship. Companies like Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank and Birla Sun-Life Insurance recruit in big numbers, most profiles offered being “marketing”.

Bharti Vidyapeeth's Institute of Management Studies & Research (BVIMSR) is a tedious 20-25 minute walk from from Belapur Railway Station on the harbour line. Despite the distance, students prefer walking as auto-rickshaws either simply refuse to ply or charge exorbitantly, possibly because of the scanty civilization around the college locality.

The canteen here is the most popular place of the college and loved by all students. The food is very tasty and the place is hygienic. “There could have been better seating arrangements though” complains a student.

Being one of the oldest management colleges around Bharti Vidyapeeth's Institute of Management Studies & Research (BVIMSR) should definitely have held one of the top 5 positions. But just above average placements and mediocre faculty have pushed it beyond the top 10. Yet it’s certainly a better choice for those who’ve not done too well in their entrance tests.
