The faculty is very well qualified and all very experienced in their own respective fields. Apart from being approachable about academic issues, the faculties are also helpful when it comes to personal issues. Most of the subjects are taken by the permanent faculties, but if need arises for any subject, the college does call for visiting faculty from the relevant fields.

The building is a 3 storey white structure and has a very typical feel, with ground in the centre and colleges building in the shape of a U. There are about 6-7 separate blocks for various departments and 8 gates to the building. The classes for MBA section are designed in a theatre style, and are equipped with projectors on top. Classrooms in the MBA section are air-conditioned while the under-grad students do not have the same privilege. Wi-Fi internet is password protected and is meant only for MBA/MCA students to use freely. The college is planning for an ARP system (for the entire university), which logs everything you do and can be tracked online. The library is common to all students and loaded with books that are needed by students of both the departments. Students never have to complain about unavailability of books. Other material of study is also available for both the MBA and MCA departments.

During the summer internships, what’s most important is that one gets maximum amount of practical exposure at the internship. Most students are matured enough to realize this and thus take up internships at places where they could learn the most. About 20-30% students do get pre-placement offers from where they pursued the internship.
With regards to placements, there are some reputed companies which the students say just come to S.K. Patel Institute of Management for on-campus recruitments. There’s Nestle, Asian Paints, Coca Cola who recruit exclusively from here. Yet the placement percentage would only be about 70% at best last year, whereas ironically it was 100% the year previous to it. Many companies come to the campus, but not everyone manages to secure a job. The average salaries offered here would be around Rs.15,000 a month, and highest has been Rs.3 Lakh per year.

Well, those who live in Gandhinagar find it easy to reach most of the colleges that are in the various sectors. The college is located in Sector 13, near KH 6 circle with other KSV colleges in the campus and across the road too. VTCOS buses make travelling inside Gandhinagar convenient. For those who travel from Ahmedabad it may be a bit of a hassle. Travelling by GSRTC buses, time and money wise are a better option. Sharing rickshaws are available from RTO and Kalupur areas. ST buses are frequent from Gandhinagar, but getting to other parts of Ahmedabad from the Northern exit would take time. Taking a BRTS from RTO would also be convenient.

The college provides hostel but is not located in the college campus; Boys hostel is in Sector 15, while the girls’ hostel is located in Sector 7. Hostels have Wi-Fi internet and recreational facilities are also decent. The hostels for both the boys and the girls have same facilities and are managed well. A meal costs Separately, it is tasty, filling and hygienic. To cater to the huge number of students at the hostel, the college has a very interesting high-speed automatic roti maker machine and watching it work is a treat. So basically things at the hostel are systematic and neat. The security especially for the girl’s hostel is first-class.

The canteen is spacious, and generously big enough to accommodate everyone, with shining steel tables and very comfortable yet efficient seating. The food is tasty, and hygienic while being moderately priced. Tea and samosa is a popular snack, meals are also available and are decent.

Well there is nothing much around, but getting to places in Sectors of Gandhinagar is not the any difficult. There’s Cinemax theatre in Ch-3 Sector 11, there is ‘chowpatty’ the road side eateries at the Gh-5 Circle and on the road that leads into the circle. Akshardham Temple in Sector 20 is a popular hangout destination to spend time with friends. For the more outgoing souls, Ahmedabad is not too far either, so a 20Km ride, and you can find a myriad of options to explore.

Overall the crowd is absolutely normal and like you would see at any other college, nothing special or different about it here. But of course, the crowd doesn’t ever fail to be decent. The unity among students of the same batch is good and students are mature. People act responsibly and while in a group, do their part well (for presentations, or projects). A majority of the students are from a BBA background, but the rest are from all backgrounds like Engineering, B.Com, and Arts graduates. More than half of the students are from Saurashtra region of the state, and the remaining 30-40% students are obviously from Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.

Life on campus is seldom stressful as most do their work regularly.
To welcome every new batch every year, the college organizes a fresher’s party which the students do enjoy. BBA department organizes a festival called ‘Aina’ and is strictly for BBA department students only. On the other hand B.Com department organizes ‘Yahoo’ which is a festival open to students of all the departments, and people participate with more zeal and fervor.

Top Attendance Reviews ALL Attendance REVIEWS

With respect to attendance the college is very particular and expects students to maintain at least 80% attendance, falling short even by 5-10% also is not acceptable, and thus no exams. Discipline is what the college wants to be followed, but in cases where a student has low attendance for genuine reasons, they are considered. During the day, once in the campus, you have to attend all the lectures, and if seen in the lobby or the campus, you would be sent back by someone or the other. Lunch time is the only time where students can roam around freely. In fact many times, even getting outside the department at odd-times is tough. Bunking is absolutely impossible.

S.K.Patel Institute of Management and Computer Studies does not have a dedicated campus for its MBA program, and thus disturbances are bound to happen. Apart from that the facilities and the infrastructure requirements are provided fine. The students are sincere and hard working. The college does try hard to get more companies for on-campus placements, but the conversion depends on an individual thereon. KSV already has a reputation but the college is also working hard to increase its own name.

On this front there is a lot of activity happening in the college. Every Saturday the college conducts seminars that are taken by corporate and managers from reputed companies. So learning here is not only theory based, but activities are also created around current newspaper and television ads, so activities remain relevant for students. This also increases the awareness and exposure of the corporate world around in the current scenario. Trends are thus discussed in the class as topics of group discussions.
Seminars or corporate lectures and also movie clubs, plan the activities such that they can explain various management fundas around them. The students were taken for an Industrial Visit to Pepsico last year, and this year a visit to Balaji Foods is being planned. The IV’s are one day trip and do not become an un-official picnic.
