Faculty is senior, and very experienced in their fields, even in the industry. Most of the subjects the permanent faculties take itself, but at times for some subjects, if needed, the college calls visiting faculty, who are usually an industry professionals. Communication is mostly in English, and the classroom lectures are pretty interesting, and informative.

The CMR campus is pretty decent, and there are 4 different institutes running in the various buildings. The standard of infrastructure is pretty modern for all the buildings. The classes are good, and well ventilated. Teachers can also make use of projectors to assist them in lectures, and students also make use of the projectors during their presentations. Internet is available at the digital library. Wi-Fi has been installed and works fine so students get to use it without any issues. All the books, for the various subjects and topics of management are available. If at all there is some book unavailable, all you need to do is inform them, and they’ll do the needful to make it available for you. The seminar hall is well furnished and maintained well too. Sports facilities are common with other CMR institutes.

The college has tie up with some consultancy firm that guides students after the course is complete. About 60 to 70% students manage to get at least some job on-campus, others do not, may be because they might have other plans, or fail to meet the eligibility criteria of the companies. General trend here shows, that the placements for Engineering branch is better than Management, and the average salary offered here would be about Rs.2-2.5 Lakh per annum. Maximum offered here would be around Rs.3 Lakh. To name a few companies coming to the campus; Genpact, Capital IQ, and Sheetal Group of industries, students say are regular recruiters. Others companies also visit the campus just that the packages offered are not the most lucrative.

In the northern outskirts of the city on Medchal Road, across the Outer Ring Road, is located CMR campus. Kandlakoya is the nearest village, and CMR campus is the very next bus stop from there, and is quite a landmark in itself. Being far from the city, not many prefer to get their own vehicles, about 35 Km from Koti (apparently the centre of Hyderabad). The college has a big fleet of buses, so many students avail the bus service, which drops them home without much issues. About 50-60% students opt for the convenience college buses offers. Only about 20% students get their own vehicles. Some stay in college hostels or in private PGs’ around. While many who find college buses unduly expensive, use the RTC buses which also drops till the college campus. 229 series from various parts of the city is frequent but crowded most of the times.

The college does provide hostel, but that’s not on the campus. About 4-5Km from the campus is the hostel, shared again by all CMR institute students. But students report it to be in a very bad state, with poor maintenance, and bad facilities. The hostel mess is also not anything to boast about. The hostel fees is affordable. and most find it pretty unreasonable, and not many opt for staying at the college hostel.

Most of the students here are from a B.Sc background, and hardly any students who have work experience. Also most of students hail from Hyderabad itself, not many come from beyond the city.

Campus life is not stressful, and students are not burdened with excessive amount of submission and assignments. The canteen is separate for MBA and Pharmacy departments, food is good & reasonable. Seating area is enough, and because the timings for different people are different it seldom gets crowded.
CMRCET-Engineering canteen is also available for them to use, and food there is good. There are not many places around the college, but travelling to Kompally opens up a lot of avenues to spend time at. Kompally is about 7 Kms from CMR and on the way home for many, so people don’t mind heading that way. There is Cineplanet to catch up with the latest movies. Runway 9, in Kompally is a popular place for Go-Karting, and is more like a one day adventure destination; which includes Lunch and unlimited games. 90 Degrees, is a popular pool parlour in Kompally again. Students even at times go to Country Club in Medchal which is not far. If nothing’s happening, the college lawns and trees always provide the students a cool shade to spend their time with friends, without having to go anywhere.

Unlike the engineering counterpart, attendance here is not taken lightly. 75% attendance is absolutely needed, under any condition. There have been cases where students have been debarred even at 74%, so basically it’s strict out here and you need to attend religiously. Only a dress code is compulsory, and no other specific disciplinary rules.

In the words of a student, “Think placement, think CMR”, should answer most your apprehensions before joining the college. Exposure and education is not a problem, and the crowd is also pretty interactive, and lively. People participate in the seminars, and the exposure to real areas of management is good. For those who wish to pursue MBA degree from the city itself, this is a good bet and ROI (if you manage a job) is good.

Guest lectures and seminars in different areas of management are conducted every week, and students attend with interest. National Conferences are also held in the college.
The students are taken for an Industrial Visit to observe the working of Hindu Business Line last year. There’s an IV conducted for students in both the years. Generally it’s in and around Hyderabad, and conducted not like a picnic. It’s a nice learning experience.
