The faculties are all senior professors and good teachers more importantly, and the interaction about the subject and otherwise too is very good. Those who really want to learn can learn a lot from the professors. And so is the case with all the departments. Although there are few junior lecturers, who aren’t as good as the seniors, but again 1 out of 7 is a small ratio and is okay. The faculties are permanent and very approachable at any time.

The entire JNTUH campus looks modern, with the School of Management Studies (SMS) block making no exception. All the classes in the building are air conditioned. The classes are spacious, and up to the mark with all modern facilities (projectors and screens) to enhance teaching. In fact currently the number of lecture halls is more than enough, so no issues there. The topics that are common to all students and those who have separate electives are provided with separate classes. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled, with good signal strength inside the building compared to outside. The auditorium and the seminar halls are also well equipped and maintained as per modern standards. Pretty cool things are with respect to the infrastructure here.

Companies coming in for recruiting MBA’s from the School of Management Studies, JNTUH are few. Most students graduate and try outside by their own, and being in the city, finding a job is not a tough task. The students say that the placements last season were about 40% - 45%. Average salary offered to you. BHEL recruited few students for a salary of Rs.55,000/month. The main hurdle students feel that discourages the companies to come over is the batch size, which is small at just 40 per batch. Also since the semester begins only by mid November, the placement cycle is also shifted which doesn’t match with a lot of companies, that would typically visit B-Schools.

Located in the north-west part of the city, Kukatpally is not difficult to reach. In fact in a couple of years, even the Hyderabad metro can drop you right outside the JNTU campus. Well connected in short. If you’re taking the RTC buses; 218, 219, 223, 224, 225, 226 series buses can get you here, from all parts of the city. Frequency of RTC Buses is high as it’s located right on the Bombay highway. Owing to the excellent connectivity, and location, about 50% of the students use public transport, while the rest 50% use their own vehicles. The others live in hostels/rooms nearby and can walk to college.

The canteen is again a separate block, and common for the entire campus, and serves decent Chinese fast food. All the stuff you get here is priced moderately, and the food is worth. There is puffs, and juices available too. The canteen space is hygienic and so is the food. Apart from the space inside the canteen, people even head out to the lawns to enjoy their food with friends in the open air. At the canteen; Chicken Noodles is the most popular among the students.

JNTU lies in the city, so there are a lot of places around where you can hangout. For movies there are Arjun, and Vishwanath theatres to catch Telugu movies. Some good restaurants include MRCB and Tabla. Tabla even has a special 10% for JNTU students. Inorbit Mall in Gachibowli is also not far to shop or chill. People also like chilling in the campus or around the canteen too.

The crowd is diverse with very sincere about studies, and the rest catch up at the end of the semester, like most other colleges. The interaction between students of different courses, IB, CMU and other is good, and students are active with things that are beyond syllabus too. The crowd hails mostly from Hyderabad, but there are about 4-5 people from foreign countries too, mainly Iran. With respect to the background of the students, about 80% are fresh graduates, and the rest have some work experience prior to the course. Majority of the students are Engineers, with B.Com and B.Sc. after that. The ratio of boys to girls is about 3:2.

Because of some issues back in 2006 celebrating festivals at the college is almost shut. The students only participate in the JNTU Campus Fest every year.

The attendance for MBA students by the norms of the university needs to be maintained at 75%, but the students say it’s okay if you manage to keep about 65% with proper reasons and medical certificates they let you go. Of course condonation fees of Rs.300 must be paid for the low attendance. But below 65% you stand a high chance of being detained, and there have been cases where students have got detained also. Life at this college is not very stressful with 2 lectures on 4 days, and 3 lectures on 2 days.

The college life and the overall exposure factors are good. The only glitch is the campus placements are not up to the mark of a University College. But students say the reputation of the university is a positive hope for them when they go out looking for jobs.

Seminars and discussions are frequent at the School Of Management Studies. The topics are varied, but still the college has left it up to the students to attend them or not, as not all might be interested for all the topics. Wednesdays are kept for guest lecturers from Managerial positions of reputed companies, who come and talk about their experience in the relevant fields. Nothing is actually forced up on the students, which they feel is a big benefit.
No industry visits have been currently conducted for the batches studying but students say industrial visit are being planned. The college is even okay if the students initiate the process and can organize an IV. IV’s happen in the 3rd semester, and the students last year were taken for a visit.
