Many of the faculty members are newly appointed are not experienced. Students have to manage studying on their own, as “you can’t study at college” is what one student said. Only a couple of teachers are senior and experienced, of which one teaches Accounts, and other teaches Management, the rest are juniors and lack the very important skill of teaching. So you can judge for yourself that it’s going to be hard with inexperienced teachers teaching you, and by the end of the semester, you’ll have to study all by yourself.

The teachers teach you from notes made by last batch. The teachers lack a lot in confidence (they can't really face anyone outside the college). The atmosphere is not at all friendly & the faculty shouts a lot.

There are two buildings, both on opposite sides of the road, right across each other. One building is for Post-Graduation courses, whereas the under-grad courses are conducted in the second building. Classes are normal and there is nothing extravagant about it, but the seating arrangements are comfortable. The auditorium as the students say is worth a mention. Brilliant seating, awesome acoustics, with a capacity of 150-200 students, and is air conditioned which goes without saying. The conference centre is called Sri Sri Ravishankar Hall in respect of the man. The top floor is kept aside solely for computer labs, and studios which are very well equipped, with the latest machines, and AV systems. Journalism (BJMC) studios are equipped with the most advanced Apple Computers. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled and students make good use of it, even during the lectures. Library is just average it can hardly accommodate around 25-30 students, however the book bank system, is in place and all the students can avail of it. Another thing that the students complaint of the lack of sports facilities.

The college auditorium is given on RENT for marriages, parties, events etc, it feels so sad to be a part of a college where they charge you thousands in the name of fine whenever they get a chance.

There are no placements for BBA students, but the college helps the students in getting summer internships to those who are interested. Few of the internships are PAID, but the rest are un-paid. But the students do not regret not getting stipend, as it’s a good learning experience, and they get real world exposure.

Tecnia Institute is located at the famous Madhuban Chowk and it’s a barely a 5 minute walk from the Pitampura Metro station, on the Blue line. Most of the students like to travel by the metro. All in all the college has superb connectivity by road, and rail, so you choose your best bet.

There is no Hostel facility provided by the college, but a smart thing you can do, is find a cheap PG flat/room around the college, where you can manage the rent and food for around Rs.5000 – Rs.6000 a month.

There are 2 canteens, one in each building. The one in the under-grad building is shut half of the times, but the other canteen (actually Orange Restaurant), which is privately owned, serves tasty food. Orange serves a lot of variety, from snacks to meals, from dosas to thalis and its quite fairly priced for a restaurant morphed into a canteen. The popular items here are: Chilly Potato, Grill Sandwich and of course the Thali. The thali being the most expensive priced at Rs. 65 only.

Since there is nothing much to do around the college, the students prefer going to malls at Netaji Subhash Place (NSP). Kamla Nagar market is another popular destination among the students. And if you want to spend the whole day out with friends, Metro Walk at Rithala, is a good place.

The college is relatively new, so the crowd used to be a little un-happening earlier, but now as the college is building reputation, the crowd is getting better and better by the batches. The crowd here is mostly from, the North and East parts of Delhi, and the area is pretty safe for the girls. The seniors and juniors interact with each other quite often, and the environment is friendly.

Each department celebrates their own festival. ‘Varchasva’ is the cultural festival celebrated by the department of Journalism and Mass Communication. MCA department celebrates a technical festival called ‘Endeavour’ while BBA and MBA departments, celebrate management festival called as ‘Saras’. All the students are allowed to participate in the festivals of other departments and the festivals are regularly spaced out so that the college life of the students does not get dull. Apart from these some or other seminar is conducted, which is mandatory for the students to attend. But ironically students find most of the seminars boring.

The university norm is 75% compulsory attendance, but it is relaxed up to 60%. So attendance is not a big issue at Tecnia, and particularly if you maintain a good rapport with the so called teachers, and maintain good academic performance. But when you’re attending lectures, you can’t help your friends by putting their proxies as the teachers manage to spot the proxies. If you fall short of attendance, your parents may get a call from college authorities. In extreme cases, you may have to pay a fine of Rs.5,000 but no harsh action against the student is said to be taken.
