The teaching department at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT) is excellent and quite experienced. Most of them have thorough knowledge about their respective topics and have years of teaching experience. The faculty for Fluid Mechanics in the Engineering Department are very good but aged; hence some find a sort of generation gap. Some are extremely nagging and harass you to the core. Sometimes the lectures are conducted on an irregular basis as well. Overall, the staff is quite good and friendly and conduct lectures mostly in English.

The college building is pretty impressive and has one of a kind infrastructure. The stereotype red brick building has a neat and clean campus and filled with hundreds of students due to the number of courses offered. The classrooms are not air conditioned but have comfortable benches. The library is well equipped with books available in abundance. The campus is wifi enabled and thus socializing isn’t a problem. The strategic feature of the campus is the way different buildings are connected. They have a unique staircase which is very innovative and quite appealing.

Companies like Honda and Mahindra are the regular recruiters for the core branches during the placement season. Accenture, Infosys, Wipro, and many more software companies recruit students from CS and IT and offer a pay packager around 4 lakhs per annum. The placements for Computers and IT are almost 100% while it’s roughly around 70% for the core branches. The college has a good record for placements and thus is highly ranked in the university.

Located in the farthest Northwest of Delhi in an extremely remote area of Rithala (sector 22 of Rohini region), Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, usually referred as MAIT, is roughly 6-8 kilometres from Rithala metro station. Even though the college is located in a jungle (this is what all the students mutter), the metro feeders and Grameen seva (10 seater auto) charge you Rs. 10 till the college gate. Moreover, the services of these autos are pretty awesome. So, metros are the most sought after mode of commutation.

There is no hostel facility for girls within the campus. Fortunately, boys have one within the campus where there’re single and double seaters. The hostel charges are roughly around Rs. 17,000/- per year and the facilities are pretty average and nothing to boast about.

The food served in the canteen is pretty edible though the prices are a bit on the higher side. There is a decent variety in the menu and students prefer both packed and freshly prepared food. As there are various courses offered, the canteen is pretty crowded during the break hours. Thanks to the stylish seating arrangement at regular intervals in the campus where students eat and complete their assignments. Oh! Some socialize too.

It’s a fact that the college’s biggest drawback is its location. Hence, hangouts are drastically affected. Students hardly get time to reach any part of Delhi during college hours and thus they prefer to chill in the nearby (not literally) Adventure Island, Metrowalk. There are no immediate food joints to the college and there’s a barren land till your visibility lasts.

As Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT) is affiliated to the Indraprastha University (IPU), most of the crowd is from Delhi and other parts of the NCR. Rarely, you see any student from any part of India or foreign countries in this college. The students are extremely friendly and co-operative. Ragging is not seen in the college. Boys outdo the girls in the ratio of students and there are hardly any girls in the core branches. Typical Engineering crowd! In the management college, the ratio is somewhat more balanced

Attendance is pretty strict during the first year of engineering but second year onwards students get an idea about all the teachers and their attendance pattern. Anything around 50% is tolerated failing which parents are called and internals are affected. Fortunately, there are no year drops or year backs like other colleges. If you’re good to the teacher, you can expect the same from them.

Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT) is definitely a good choice for studious chaps. Location and Hangouts are a drawback so watch out for that. Teachers are strict as well. But overall, the placements, crowd and the reputation has the legacy going. One needs a very good rank to get in this college.
