The teaching at Jagannath International Management School (JIMS) is above average. Senior teachers form a major chunk of the faculty and special appreciation is given to the Maths faculty. However, communicating in English is sometimes a problem for a few professors.

Except for a lack of campus and open areas such as a playground or a lawn, JIMS gives no chance for complaints. The building is clean and nicely maintained, classrooms are air-conditioned and the library is big enough. In general, the students are very satisfied and face no issues.

Placements at JIMS, Vasantkunj are said to be the best among other sister institutes. Students who apply who get placed but most students either opt for higher studies or “Pappa ka business”

Jagannath International Management School or JIMS as it is more popularly known as is located in the Vasantkunj area of New Delhi which is nowhere close to any of the Metro stations and needs to be accessed by DTC buses (604, 717, 543, 534A, 715 to name a few) or rickshaws. The situation here, however, appeared to be a little different – most students get their own vehicles to college and hardly care about the local transport facilities.

The canteen at Jagannath International Management School (JIMS) is too small, slightly expensive and provides few choices of snacks. When asked about the best that the canteen serves, “Chatni” was the reply after a lot of thought.

The very famous Ambience Mall is just round the corner and is quite popular among the students. Parathas at Institutional Area and the myriad of food stalls at Satya Niketan are other hot favourites.

Students from rich family backgrounds are seen showing off their material possessions in an endless race to show the other inferior. Cars with hi-fi music systems and jet black windows are seen swishing around roads near the college. Those with bikes perform various stunts may be to impress those beautiful girls around. All in all it’s a very lively environment – a good thing if you leave out the “show-off” part.

“Kshitij” is the annual inter-college cultural festival celebrated in mid-February Numerous other Inter-JIMS festivals like Expressions Fiesta and Prism are celebrated here. Freshers party, Dandiya and Pop Star nite are some of the other events held in the college.

JIMS is very strict about the attendance criteria and is merciless to students with less than 75% attendance – the general required to be followed under the GGS IP University. If attendance is low a few warnings are given, parents are called for and if at the end of the semester or year the student is unable to cover, he/she is not allowed to appear for the University exams.
