There is an insufficient number of permanent teaching staff, thus you would find a lot of visiting faculties. The permanent staffs (most of them are HODs of their departments) consist of highly experienced members who are alumni of top engineering colleges in country. Students feel that the director of the college and the chemistry teacher are really worth a mention, who are ex-professor of IIT and an alumnus of HBTI – Kanpur respectively. But leaving apart this handful of teachers the rest are just average and students are not fully satisfied with their teaching.

Greater Noida Institute of Technology (GNIT) has a nice lush green campus, which can’t be called as huge, but it’s big enough to support all the necessary facilities. The air-conditioned classrooms are spacious and have comfortable benches. The college has a very good library and students feel it is the best in Greater Noida. There’s also huge reading room adjoining the library, which is very useful in case the library gets full. The labs are well maintained and you can find all the equipment you may need during the practical sessions. There’s Wi-Fi connectivity all over the campus and there’s no restriction over its usage. There’s only one thing the students complain of and it’s the lack of a playground. There used to be a nice playground but recently some building for workshop and civil / mechanical departments has been constructed on it. But indoor recreational facilities are there for you to enjoy.

Greater Noida Institute of Technology (GNIT) has got a good record in placements with 100% students getting placed. However most of the students get placed in mass recruiting IT companies like TCS, Infosys and HCL. The average salary the students get is 3 – 4 Lakh rupees while the highest package offered was 4.6 Lakhs.

As the name suggests Greater Noida Institute of Technology (GNIT) is located in Knowledge Park 2 area of Greater Noida. It is quite inaccessible for those travelling from Delhi. The nearest metro station would be Noida sector 18 on the Blue line, which is about 40 minutes bus ride from the college. Those travelling from Noida and Ghaziabad opt for private buses, which drop you at Pari Chowk which is another 5 minutes’ walk from the college. However most people prefer to stay as a PG in areas nearby the college, which is a wise thing to do, considering it may take as much as 2 hours of travelling one way. College also provides a bus facility.

The college provides hostels for all the students. There are 2 hostels, one inside the campus and another outside. First and second year boys and all the girls are placed in the campus hostels (separate of course) which are highly secure and ragging has been minimized to a negligible level. The infra and facilities in the hostel are very good for a hostel. The rooms are available on double, triple or non-sharing basis, and all have attached bathrooms. The hostel charge varies as per sharing of the room. There’s unrestricted wifi connectivity in all the hostels but again no playground or recreational facilities in the hostels too. Those who’ve got a year drop are also allowed to stay in the hostels. Students often complain about the college management collecting fine for some or other silly reasons.

The canteen has been recently shifted to MCA building. The earlier canteen was very spacious and students used to chill there for hours. The new one is made by joining 2 classrooms and it is quite small. It is common for all the courses and you might feel claustrophobic when everyone comes down for lunch.

Sadly there are no hangouts in the nearby area other than a mall called Ansal Plaza. Thus students often go to the college canteen, GGIT campus and other colleges in the vicinity (there are about 150 of them and many more are coming up) to meet their friends.

Crowd at Greater Noida Institute of Technology (GNIT) used to comprise students from rural areas of Uttar Pradesh and locals, some of whom used to bully others. But this scene is changing as the college is gaining popularity and more students are coming from proper Delhi and rest of the NCR. The people here are friendly and seniors are helpful. The number of girls is much less compared to other colleges, as many girls prefer GGIT over GNIT. But the combined girls to boys ratio for both the colleges would be 50 – 50.

The UPTU norm is minimum 75% attendance, but it may be relaxed to 60% by the college after collecting a small fine. However you would want to be a little careful and attending the lectures, as there have been cases of not letting student sit for the exams due to poor attendance.

Greater Noida Institute of Technology (GNIT) and GNIT's Girls Institute of Technology (GGIT) are among the very few good engineering colleges in Greater Noida. However there's a lot of scope for improvement in faculty, infrastructure and canteen.
