Dr. DY Patil Institute of Engineering and Technology (DYPIET) can actually boast of smart distribution in teaching if not the best of faculty. This is because the difficult subjects are taught by the good and extremely knowledgeable senior professors. Junior professors teach only the ‘doable’ subjects. The teachers are helpful to students.

Provision for internet access has been made available and they have Wi-fi enabled labs but usage is restricted. Classrooms are decent and lectures can be spent sitting without hurting your bums. The labs & the library are manageable too. Parts of the campus are still coming up though. The college hostel is OK, at best. Boys and girls rooms are available at a cost of Rs. 40,000/- per year.

Campus.. this college doesn't know the meaning of that.. no playground... no canteen.. nothing like a college.!!
and as far campus selection.. well instead of blaming the incapability of college to recruit students.. students are blamed for lack of technical knowledge.. and hence are not placed!

The placements are okay, nothing great. Average salary for the previous three years is about 2.8 lac/annum. No big companies with hefty salary slips are known to visit the campus and the maximum salary is usually just a little more than the average salary at 3.1 lac/annum. TechMahindra recruits people in numbers, but that’s about it. E&TC has the best placements in terms of number of students placed followed by Computers and Electronics. A few very lucky ones get placed from the Instrumentation Department.

placement is not concern but I think so because of progressive works i.e faculty, facilities.. placement will be better in next few years upto 2016 batch (i.e my batch)

Dr. DY Patil Institute of Engineering and Technology (DYPIET) is located right behind the Mumbai Pune highway (old) in Pimpri. Traveling by buses is a little inconvenient, because although a number of buses ply on the highway, the college is a 20 minute walk from the bus stops. A vehicle is always preferable.

Travelling to the college is very much irritating, and you have to travel by a vehicle TATA magic, which is fully crowded and with reckless and errant drivers!

There is no canteen which the college can call its own. Although this may come as a shocker for many students, only hostelites get the liberty to use the canteen as it's part of the hostel. Others have to manage somehow. However, recently even this only canteen happened to shutdown and there's sign of reopening it as yet. Students have to rely on numerous food stalls outside the college.

There is a McDonald’s nearby, where students often hang out. Other than this, there is Big Cinema, E-square, and something called Dakshin. The "golawala" right outside the college is quite popular.

There are few localities from Pune. Majority of the crowd is from other parts of Maharashtra. So it's a mix of urban as well as semi-urban people at DY Patil College of Engineering, Pimpri.

Moderately strict. Below 75%, and you’ll be fined. However, students with genuine reasons are exempted from it. If you miss a mid-term test you will be fined with around Rs. 1000/-

Not great, not very bad either. Could, and maybe should, be avoided.
