The teaching is just about okay but the staff is extremely co-operative. Junior professors are a majority here with decent English communication.

The college is spread across three buildings in the JSPM campus. Non-AC labs, decent libraries with good availability of books complete its infrastructure. Practical sessions for Mechanical department take place in the nearby Imperial College of Engineering. The labs are well equipped and students don't have any issues there. The college now offers access to internet over Wi-Fi to all its students which is good enough for genuine academic work and is usually available across the entire campus. Apart from the infrastrcuture to support academic development, the campus has well maintained landscaped gardens too. The college also has an ambulance on stand-by 24/7 and has tied up with a multi-speciality hospital too. The students can make use of the Gymnasium - JSPM Fitness Club, which is maintained well. For banking services, the students can access ICICI ATM in the campus itself. A simple canteen offers students nice food and there are more food corners across the campus to grab a bite from.

Bhivarabai Sawant Institute of Technology & Research (earlier women only) is located in Wagholi, a remote & distant suburban area in Eastern Pune. Students commute by their own vehicles. Some prefer to use the college bus facility (with a fleet of about 300 buses) which charges you according to the distance.

The JSPM campus in Wagholi has a common canteen shared by numerous other institutes. So, lunch hours are extremely packed. Moreover, the food is barely edible, and highly unvaried. Even though the cost is quite low, space, quality and hygiene overpowers it. Apart from that, the campus has two Cafe, a dosa plaza, a Juice centre and three other canteens too! These places also double up as hangouts for most students.

One has to travel almost 20kms to enjoy a movie in Inox. There aren’t any such hangouts near the campus. Students are seen in Mohan ki tapri and areas like Chandan Nagar.

The college has students from all over Maharashtra, majority of which are quite studious.

‘School ki tarah hai’ as quoted by one of the students. The attendance is 90% compulsory (many argue that 75% should be fine in manny cases) else parents are notified via letters or a fine of Rs. 100/- per subject is levied.

Things have improved over the past years and have improved making the college a better prospect. The college was Women-only earlier but is now Co-ed so that should also be considered.
