At Sapthagiri College of Engineering, you can expect good faculty. Pick up any course and a student is pretty happy with his/her department barring a FEW exceptions. All the teachers have got either a PhD or an M.Tech degree from the best universities in India and abroad. The college has a good lot of experienced teachers. Mechanical department conducts Industrial Visits to companies like ACE designers, Schneider and General Machine Tools. There are a few visiting lecturers for some departments but the permanent teachers are simply superb. The teachers are very friendly and do not indulge in taking out personal anger by reducing term work marks. Lectures are conducted in English; or should we say borken English?

Sapthagiri’s infrastructure is definitely excellent. The lush green huge campus looks beautiful and has an amphitheatre right at the centre where you see loads of students. There are three volleyball courts and a single basketball court. For some, it looks like resort! The college building is well maintained with good, clean and big classrooms. Sadly, there are no air conditioners in the lecture hall but fans work properly. There is a normal library followed by a digital one where you can find dozens of books of various courses and latest edition. The college lacks wifi connectivity but has an internet lab which students can use without any restrictions.

The appearance of the college is BAD! Only few blocks are in proper condition. There's no wifi, no playground, no bank or atm and in library very less amount of books.
Overall it looks too old, and its a simple, normal college. They need to provide more and more facilities like an excellent library with 50,000 books, more labs for cse microprocessor, wifi, atm, bank, medicare, football ground etc.

Well, the list of companies that come to the college is long. Sorry, very long! Software giants Infosys, TCS and Accenture recruit students in mass. TISCO, Toyota, India Armed Force, IBM, Sonata, Oracle, HCL, Ericsson, Kirloskar, Jindal, L&T, Robert & Bosch and ORACLE are other major companies seen in Sapthagiri Engineering College Bangalore. Some of the above companies are a part of the pool campus. In short, you can expect branch wise companies hiring students from Sapthagiri College of Engineering. The average pay package is around Rs. 3.5 lakhs per annum. Air force companies pay a handsome salary of Rs. 6L per annum while the Navy companies pay you a whopping Rs. 9 lakhs per year. And you can expect almost 100% placements in this college provided you meet the company recruitments.

Located in far North-West of Bangalore, Sapthagiri College of Engineering is one of the famous engineering institutions in the city. The college is situated in Chikkasandra region on the Hesaraghatta Main Road and is extremely far from the main city but connectivity to the college is superb. BMTC bus drops you right outside the gate on the main road. Frequency of the bus is commendable as you can expect it every 5 minutes for and from major regions. Most, prefer to travel by BMTC buses while a few choose to commute by bikes, local trains and college buses. In short, accessibility to the college shouldn’t be a problem.

The college provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls, separately, of course. The hostel rent is around Rs. 24,000 per annum while the mess charges are around Rs. 18,000 per year. Rooms are big and spacious enough for two to three students to share. Bedrooms and washrooms are cleaned regularly and hygiene is thoroughly maintained. Girls’ hostel is not in the campus but is pretty safe. Fortunately, the hostel regulations aren’t that strict. There are various recreational facilities like gym, table tennis and badminton court within the hostel. Hostelites feel the hostel level is way above average as compared to other institutions with the country.

After all the praises, canteen is what the students dislike about their college. The canteen infrastructure, quality and variety of food are not at all upto the mark. Even though the prices are economical (say a meal would cost you Rs. 25), taste and variety is what the management should look into.

As the college is located in a remote location, hangouts aren’t that happening. There a few Udipi restaurants next to the college followed by a CCD. Snooker lovers are seen in a pool parlour next to the college.

Almost 60% of the students are from Bangalore while the remaining are from different regions like South India (major chunk), Bihar, Delhi West Bengal, etc. The crowd is very friendly and mixes with each other very well. “The diversified background is an integral part of this college and keeps the spirit alive”, says a student from Andhra Pradesh. Boys to girls ratio is pretty healthy in the CS, IS and ECE department. Infact biotech department has more number of girls. Contrary to that is the mechanical department where you hardly see any girl. Hard luck boys! The college encourages a lot of extra curricular activities and students participate in cultural festival of many other colleges also. Overall the crowd is simple from a good cultured family and believes in working hard and party harder!

The crowd is hindi speaking with very few students managing to speak in english. The teachers themselves can't speak good english. The college lab manuals etc have way too many spelling mistakes! This shows the level of english here.

Despite the 85% attendance norm by VTU, mechanical department is the most chilled out of the lot. Till the time you’re scoring good marks, teachers and the management don’t have an issue related to the attendance. Even 50% is permissible. Computer department demands 75% attendance failing which students will not be allowed to give exams unless someone has a genuine reason. Students lacking in attendance compensate by writing loads of assignments (better than paying a fine).
There is no dress code followed in Sapthagiri College unlike many other engineering colleges in Bangalore.
