Senior professors teaching at AIT are highly experienced and very much liked by students. But that can’t be said for all the junior ones. Luckily for each subject they have assigned one senior professor who is accompanied by a junior. So overall students are more or less satisfied by faculty at hand. They claim that on an average there would be around 70% good faculties in each branch.

Campus of AIT is big and spacious. There are 3 separate buildings for core and computer related branches and another block for MBA too. Campus is well planned and buildings are evenly spaced out by lawns and playgrounds in between. Classrooms are comfortable and labs are well equipped. Mechanical labs have all machines like CNC, milling etc in good condition. Computer labs are air-conditioned and have updated PCs with internet connectivity. Library has all the required books and there are a handful copies of each one too. Unfortunately there are just reference books and no textbooks. But there’s a separate reading hall where one can take his/her own books to read.

Many companies visit AIT for recruiting students, most of which are small-time local companies. There are just a few big names involved like Essar, Mitsubishi & Apollo Tyres. Mechanical & Electrical students are said to be having better job prospects in this college and about 35%-40% of these students manage to secure jobs. Average package offered is in 2.5 to 3 Lakh range while maximum salary that has been offered was Rs 4 Lakh per annum.

Ahmedabad Institute of Technology (AIT) is located just inside city limits on north-western side. It is on the road connecting Gota on SG Highway to Ognaj on SP Ring road, nearly equidistant from both. There are many AMTS and ST buses plying on SG Highway which is about 2 km from college. A couple of buses are also there all the way till college. Thus commuting is no big deal. Plus there are college buses too but they charge around 15,000 a year making most students not opt for them. Over 60% students travel by personal vehicles.

It’s a medium sized canteen at AIT but capacity is very less due to inadequate number of tables and chairs. Rather there are too many people to be adjusted in limited seats. Maybe that’s college’s way to ensure that student don’t bunk and sit in canteen.

There are N number of good places on SG Highway. Some of the popular ones are U.S. Pizza, McDonald’s, Pakwan and many others. Of course you need to travel 2 km to reach all of these.

About 65% students are from Ahmedabad city while others are majorly from Gandhinagar and Rajkot. 60-40 is the average boy-girl ratio. Most of the students are sincere and studious. And there are hardly any mischievous students. All are freindly and there’s a good rapport between seniors and juniors.

There are 3 main festivals or events held at Ahmedabad Inst of Tech. An intercollege ‘tech-fest’, intra-college annual day having mostly cultural events and again intra-college sports week. There is participation in good numbers in all three.

Top Attendance Reviews ALL Attendance REVIEWS

It depends on which branch we are talking about. Lenient branches like Mech & Electrical tolerate as low as 50%-60% attendance while the stricter ones (computer and ECE) will make sure that your attendance doesn’t fall below 75%. Actions taken against defaulters is not very harsh - a letter is sent to their home or parents might be called to meet. Detaining from college due to attendance shortage is as rare as Tsunami in Sahara.
Other disciplinary rules include wearing id-card, no exit before college leaves, no roaming around in campus or sitting in canteen. Also if you’re late you'll be required to write down reason for the same in a register kept near the gate.
But overall it is not among the strictest colleges around city and there is some degree of freedom.

Ahmedabad Institute of Technology (AIT) has certainly come a long way in a short span post its inception. Good infrastructure bundled with a decent lot of faculties and sufficient amount of freedom to students are the key points. It can do better in placements and faculties. It can be classified as a tier-two college as of now but it certainly has potential to compete for a place in top 5 in the city.
