Don’t be deceived by the infrastructure to judge the faculty of the college. The faculty mostly consists of the teachers who don’t have any experience. Students are not at all happy with the teaching of the teachers. Faculty definitely needs a big improvement. The college does promise to provide books but then only notes are provided.

The college like most of the other colleges located in the outskirts of Chennai has a sprawling campus. The Mogul styled architecture of the college building doesn’t give you an impression that it is an engineering college. There is a lot of empty space on the campus marked with a very few trees.
The infra is of the college is well maintained but according to students it is just to attract students. As you enter the college there is a reception which gives you a feel of a hotel. Classrooms are spacious and the labs are well equipped. The college has prayer halls for students to use it, usually used by Muslim students for offering Namaaz.

Dhaanish Ahmed is located on the SH-48. The area around is called Vanchuvancherry about which even the people around don’t know about. The college is approximately 35 km from the Chennai city. The college is not very easily accessible, the frequency of the MTC bus is very low, which too drops you on the main road and Dhaanish Ahmed is again 5mins walk from there.

It is decent. There isn’t much the canteen has to offer. There is a juice center near the college which also is probably half a kilometer far, is the only hangout that the students have.

The college has a Muslim minority quota and hence most of the crowd comprises of Muslims. There are many students coming from the rural parts of Tamil Nadu. Conversing in English is a problem here. Many come from vernacular medium and adjusting is very difficult for them.

There are no cultural activities happening in the college. There is a technical symposium which is held but not very famous among other colleges and not attended by many students.

The college is very strict regarding attendance. Students are expected to maintain a minimum of 75%. Anything lower will attract a fine and in some cases it may even lead to detention. There are fines for almost everything, if you don’t wear your id card you are again liable for a fine. The college is very particular when it comes to dress code. Students are expected to be dressed in complete formals including the shoes. Any inappropriate dressing, of course and you will be fined.

Very far from the city, Dhaanish Ahmed College of Engineering (DACE) is an option which you should keep after the top colleges. Worth it only if you stay nearby.

In addition to academics, extra curricular and co-curricular activities are conducted in the college. Also the students are motivated and encourage to participate the various events organized in other colleges.
