The teachers at Apollo Priyadarshanam Institute of Technology are all Post Graduate degree holders and all have at least three years’ experience. Teachers are quite strict when dealing with students but are always at students’ disposal when any help is required.

Apollo Priyadarshanam Institute of Technology, like most other colleges on the outskirts of Chennai, has a huge campus with big playgrounds. The red and white building overlooks these grounds which aren’t maintained very well. The college labs and library are decent, not really aesthetically pleasing; they look like any ordinary room with just some tables and shelves. The furniture everywhere is minimal.

The college website claims that its students have been placed in companies like Google, HCL, Infosys and many other IT companies. However the first batch hasn’t come out yet. The college does provide some soft skill training before the placement process.

Apollo Priyadarshanam Institute of Technology (APIT) is located in Oragadam on the Vandalur Walajabad road. The college is approximately 45 km from Chennai Central and approximately 24 km from Tambaram. The college is located on the highway but there is just one MTC bus which plies on this route and the frequency is very poor. But thankfully college does have its fleet of buses which transports students to the various parts of the city. Apollo Priyadarshanam is quite isolated from the city and the nearby areas also aren’t developed.

Hostels are available on the campus. Students complain about the discomfort they have to face in the hostel. The rooms are too small for 4 people to stay in and the food served in mess is also very bad.

The canteen is very small and not much of a variety is available. Not surprisingly, only South Indian food is available – tiffin items available in the morning and lunch during noon – that is it. On the positive side - the food is cheap and quantity is good.

Apollo being located far away from Chennai, many students from the city doesn’t prefer it. Around half the crowd is from various other parts of Tamilnadu and they stay in the hostels on the campus. The boy to girl ratio is also much skewed with just 10% girls. There are some students from Kerala too but very few.

In Apollo Priyadarshanam each department has its own symposiums which have mostly technical events & very few non-tech events. The college also has cultural function, which is intra-college. Every year there is an Industrial visit which is usually one day trip.

Attendance & Disciplinary issues here are very similar to most of the engineering colleges in & around Chennai. Minimum 75% attendance is required, defaulting which the students are detained. The college is strict about the dressing of students and their behavior. Mobile phones are strictly not allowed in the college.

Apollo Priyadarshanam Institute of Technology (APIT) is a comparatively new college & one of the least preferred too. While qualified & helpful faculties are an advantage, other factors are not really favorable.
