Even the most junior lecturer at Sreenidhi Institute of Technology & Science would have an M.Tech qualification remarks a student. Senior, knowledgeable and experienced professors outnumber the newbies by a large margin. Quality of education has been consistently praised by students, especially those in the EEE and ECE departments. In short, the faculty is superb.

Sreenidhi Institute Of Science & Technology (SNIST) is situated in a sprawling 25-acre campus mostly occupied by lush green lawns, sports fields and open areas with academic blocks spread about systematically. The college boasts of air-conditioned classrooms and laboratories (not all of them though), super-fast Internet access through Wi-Fi, well-maintained library and a resource centre with stationery and photocopying facilities. The only thing students complain about is the sports facility; although open areas are in abundance, they aren't typically demarcated or well kept.

Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology (SNIST) manages to easily place at least half the batch every year. In 2011, the college recorded a staggering 1000 job offers (nearly 100% placements) and students hope that the trend continues. Common recruiters include companies like Cognizant, Wipro, TCS, Infosys and Mahindra Satyam with average salary ranging between Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 3.25 lakh per annum. Google, Microsoft, Dell also pay an occasional visit and the few lucky ones hired get a Rs. 5 lakh package. Unfortunately, there are hardly any companies providing jobs other than those from the IT sector.

It takes a nearly 40-minute drive from Uppal, the nearest urban locality, to reach Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology (SNIST) which is located in a little known area called Yamnampet near Ghatkesar, a distant suburb in North-Eastern Hyderabad. Although it's extremely far, it's not too exhausting to reach the college as accessibility is reasonably good. RTC buses like 218, 245A, 245J, 488, 490-494 and series of 280 buses ferry you up to the Main Road, if not the college gate, from where you can take a share auto or possibly even walk the distance and stay fit. College Bus service is efficiently managed and if the charges (Rs. 22,000 for the air-conditioned coaches and Rs. 17,000 for the usual ones) aren't pinching, it's best to utilize it.

The college has Boys and Girls hostels in Ghatkesar which, in spite of providing marvelous accommodation and lavish food do not find many takers; probably because of the unreasonably high charges (Rs. 60,000 per year) and availability of several other cheaper private hostels.

The canteen serves tolerable food at affordable costs. Seating arrangements and the overall ambience need a makeover but the students don't seem to be minding it too much. There are a couple of stalls serving quick snacks like 'masala corn' and frankies right outside the canteen and a small cafeteria at the other end of canteen provides packaged foods, samosas, puffs etc.

Two reasons why students don't wish to hang 'out':
1. They aren't permitted to bunk lectures and leave the campus and
2. Even if they managed to get out, there's nothing around to sit and chill with friends.
"Rather we just stay in and explore our gigantic campus. There's always a new place to be found" declares a group of students proudly.

Now that's the advantage of studying at one of the best institutes in the city; you're surrounded by people excelling in different fields, while still being great at academics. Nearly three-fourths of the crowd at Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology (SNIST) hails from Hyderabad itself resulting in an uppish and urban crowd enthusiastic to learn, interact and make new friends. You can be certain of finding like-minded people no matter where your interest lies.

'Sree-Vision' is the biggest and most awaited event at Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology (SNIST) celebrated in mid-October. There's everything from sports to technical events and cultural programs. 'Roboveda' is another biggie but is a dedicated Robotics festival. Besides these, a dozen other workshops and events keep happening and there's always an opportunity to participate.

Internal marks are somewhat related to attendance with full marks awarded to those achieving 100% attendance and zero for those below 75%. Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology (SNIST) strictly adheres to the rules prescribed by the University and you can expect to be detained if attendance is below 75% and you fail to produce genuine reasons supported by necessary medical documents.
Disciplinary rules include restrictions on leaving the campus during college hours without obtaining the required permissions and a newly introduced uniform (3 choices of shirts & trousers) which, despite being opposed by the seniors, is expected to be successfully effected soon. College timing is 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

It's not even been two decades since Sreenidhi Institute of Science Technology (SNIST) was established, yet its systematic and unvarnished approach towards learning has quickly made it a front-runner. It, undoubtedly, features amongst the top 10 engineering colleges in Hyderabad and holds the potential to dethrone the best.
