Many students are disappointed with the teaching and blame the college authorities for not bringing in more senior professors. "Learning is manageable but there's great scope for improvement" suggests a third year student.

Nawab Shah Alam Khan College of Engineering & Technology (NSAKCET) looks like a refurbished palace, except that it's campus is much tinier. The infrastructure is pretty much satisfactory - labs are clean, maintained and well-equipped, classrooms are spacious and the library houses a good number of books.

The efforts of the college reap benefits for a selected few. The remaining have to either opt for higher studies or search for jobs on their own.

Since Nawab Shah Alam Khan College of Engineering & Technology (NSAKCET) is a minority institute, more than two-thirds of the seats are reserved for Muslims. On the whole, over 90% of the students studying here are Muslims and many of them come from North-Indian states too.

Nawab Shah Alam Khan College of Engineering & Technology (NSAKCET) is fairly relaxed with disciplinary rules. There are minimum restrictions and students are free to enter and leave the campus at all times provided they fulfill the mandatory 75% attendance. Those who fail to do this have to shell out fines to the tune of Rs. 3000-Rs. 5000.

Nawab Shah Alam Khan College of Engineering & Technology continues to be one of the least preferred engineering colleges in Hyderabad in spite of its splendid location and infrastructure. Unless there are significant improvements brought in the placements and faculty, there's no hope that the scenario will change any soon.
