TKR College of Engineering & Technology (TKRCET) takes a little hitting on this aspect. Faculty in the first and second year mainly consists of junior lecturers who've had less than two years of teaching experience and although knowledgeable, they're not able to express themselves in the best possible way. Students say that the situation is much better in the third and final years but more improvement is required.

The campus of TKR College of Engineering & Technology is massive and yet, really well maintained. It's shared by Teegala Krishna Reddy Engineering College and Teegala Krishna Reddy Pharmacy College. There's a state-of-the-art cricket ground which hosts district-level tournaments as well as music releases and promotional events but is usually restricted from use by students. Other on-campus sports facilities include basketball, volleyball, table-tennis and carrom.
The main building of TKR College of Engineering & Technology (TKRCET) is outstanding - nothing short of a five-star hotel. The majestic entrance welcomes you to a granite-floored lobby and splendid classrooms, labs and what not. Necessary equipments are frequently updated in laboratories and the library provides book bank facilities. Apart from a few minor troubles occasionally, students have no reason to complain against the college infrastructure.

Records have been impressive and over 50% of the students get placements through efforts of the college. However, salaries offered are mediocre with the maximum going to up to Rs. 4.5 lakh per year. Companies recruiting include Infosys, HCL, Dell, BlueStar, Syntel apart from the mid-level firms operating locally.

TKR College of Engineering & Technology (TKRCET) is located amidst the semi-urban locality of Meerpet in Southern Hyderabad. 90R, 100, 104D, 104J, 104R and 104S are a few RTC buses which pass by near the main gate of the campus. Although accessibility isn't all that great, students are happy that it's one of the closest engineering colleges from central Hyderabad. About two-thirds of the students prefer travelling by RTC buses while the remaining use their own vehicles or utilize the college bus services (charges for the same are between Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 16,000 per year)

There are a couple of canteens and food joints in the TKR College of Engineering & Technology (TKRCET) campus. The main canteen is sufficiently big and has loads of chairs and tables arranged in an orderly fashion. It doesn't get too crowded even during lunch time probably because majority of students get their own meal boxes which they munch on in the classroom itself. Veg puffs and veg fried rice are the preferred varieties. Meals are priced at Rs. 25-30 so it's pretty reasonable too.

Movie theatres Indra, Nagendra, Sri Laxmi are a favourite amongst students at TKR College of Engineering & Technology (TKRCET) for watching Telegu movies. Hindi and English movies run in theatres around Dilsukhnagar, about 15-20 minutes drive from here. Swagat Restaurant, Bawarchi and eateries outside the main gate are few more popular hangouts.

The crowd is decent and there's good interaction between seniors and juniors. More than half the students at TKR College of Engineering & Technology (TKRCET) are non-localites but everyone mingles with each other.

A mega cultural event is celebrated sometime in March every year and is a very pompous affair attended by various celebrities. Technical events are organized at department level while the cricket tournament in January is the most awaited event of the year.

Till recently low attendance wasn't an issue at TKR College of Engineering & Technology (TKRCET) and you could get away by paying fines proportional to the shortage in attendance. However, the college has suddenly become very particular about punishing defaulters and 65% lectures is the bare minimum you need to attend. Additionally, a closed gate system has been introduced wherein students need proper permissions before they can leave the campus between college hours. College timings are 9:30am to 4:00pm. Students hope that rules will be relaxed again and TKR will return to its previous student-friendly self.

Proximity of TKR College of Engineering & Technology (TKRCET) to Hyderabad and it's magnificent campus and infrastructural amenities may tempt you to opt for it. Placements are fairly good too. Just the slight compromise on academics is what you need to think twice about.
