INFORMATION

INTRODUCTION:

Why REC Education ?

Entrance examinations are becoming more and more high-tech be it CAT, GRE®, GMAT®, or even MAT. There is a higher level of uniformity, automation, and scientific design in today’s examinations. So shouldn’t your training be in keeping with those new needs?

An engineer from a top institute may not need as many classes in Maths as does a B.Com. graduate, and even the few classes she needs may be only at a higher level with no basics; but she may need special attention to her language, with focus on how to score in the logic-based questions in language. Or a B.A./BMS student with good language skills may need fewer and higher level language classes, but personal help in cracking enough Quant questions to make the cutoff. The REC method will allow such custom-designed modules.

Small numbers and the use of technology will obviate the need for average or poor lectures, with only top instructors teaching. Also, small numbers can ensure that there is personal attention, regular and assured doubt-clearing from top instructors, group and personal analysis of every mock test that you attend. REC will work modularly, so that those with aspirations for JB or Welingkar, those who want something more like NL Dalmia or SIES, or potential IIM/FMS/XLRI candidates, are all given variegated assistance and attention. This will ensure that some groups are not ignored, and some groups are not given stuff they don’t need!

Coaching at REC

  • Personalized coaching, small classes
  • Very small number of teachers: lectures only from excellent teachers, digital or in person
  • Classes designed for different needs – special VA sessions, or personal math help, based on strengths and weaknesses
  • Doubt clearing and personalized coaching available throughout the day, everyday
  • Analysis for each group, immediately after each test, individualized strategy

COURSES OFFERED

CAT/ XAT/ FMS/ IIFT

The CAT is a multiple choice test and traditionally comprises three sections: Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Mathematical Logic, Verbal Ability. The total number of questions has gradually decreased from 165-180 (prior to year 2000) to 75 (in 2006 and 2007). In 2008 the number of questions briefly increased to 90 (40 in Verbal Ability and 25 each in Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation). But 2009 had the least number of questions ever: 60! So the CAT has evolved from a speed test to an exam that evaluates the fundamental abilities of candidates in the aforementioned areas.

The REC method for cracking the CAT is based on custom-designed modules for candidates of different ability groups.

Candidates can also take just the Language Module or the Quant Module based on their requirements.

* CET / SNAP / NMAT / MAT
There is a separate package and completely separate training methodology for these tests.

GRE / GMAT

Our training program for GMAT® is also modeled on similar lines to our GRE® program. We customize study plans as per each student’s requirements.

Training Program - REC way :

Universities and Institutes around the world want to know who you are and what your special characteristics are, through your application. So the standardized essays and recommendations that you get from traditional counsellors will certainly not give you the best possible admission. REC will work with you, one on one, and create the ideal essays and recons that can get you top quality admissions

Preparation for the Tests also needs to be based on your strengths and weaknesses, not on uniform training. REC will give you the individual attention required to score the maximum you can.

Our training program includes :

  • Special vocabulary techniques to help them with Analogies, Antonyms & Sentence Completion
  • A full course of weekend lectures over 3 months, to train them in the 3 sections.
  • Individualized attention, by appointment, from highly experienced and proven faculty, in each area that you need help in
  • Evaluation and guidance on Issue and Argument essays, online
  • Counselling on University Selection, Applications, Visa Application & Visa Interviews
  • Help with Application Essays and Editing, Interviews, etc. from experts in the field.

GD / PI & SOFT SKILLS

Group Discussions & Personal Interviews.

Group Discussions & Personal Interviews or, in the case of SP Jain, Group Interviews, are what differentiate the winners from the also-rans. Hundreds of students at the IIMs and other top institutes will vouch for the quality of REC training. We believe in individually working with the students to maximize potential and performance. Our results speak for themselves!

Language & Soft Skills Training

Engineering Students:

When engineering students reach the third or fourth year, they suddenly realize that they need to prepare for placements, CAT, GRE® etc. And they find that their language skills and GD/PI skills are the problem!

Instead, if they start preparing in the second or third year, calmly and without pressure, once or twice over the weekend, and 15 minutes a day during the weekdays, life will become so much easier and success so much nearer. This program will help them prepare meaningfully, so that their chances of success in Placement Interviews/CAT/GRE® increase significantly. We will also offer basic training in Aptitude tests as per the recruitment history of different companies.

MBA Students:

When companies recruit from management institutes, one thing we notice is that even the brightest students get rejected because they don not have the required Soft Skills – Communication, Body Language, General Awareness, Generating New Ideas.

Whichever college you belong to, your placement depends on how you impress the HR guys who come to select you. And that depends on your Soft Skills, your GD/PI. The REC method will see you performing at the peak of your abilities and getting into the best possible companies available.

TESTIMONIALS

WHAT EX-STUDENTS HAVE TO SAY...

I heard about REC at IIT Delhi! Everybody there seemed to know about Roy Sir. I couldn‟t have made it to IIM-A without the excellent teaching and the individual attention I got at REC.
- Karan Kabra, IIM-A (2010-12)

I came all the way from Goa every weekend to study at REC. I will always be grateful to them for getting me into the best institute in the country.
- Anuj Jhaveri, IIM-A (2010-12)

Being at REC gave me a different perspective of looking at things in life. The guidance I got from Roy Sir and others at REC has helped me get admission in one of the most difficult institutes to get into: IIM-A. I would like to thank everyone at REC for helping me realize my goals.
- Susan Jose, IIM-A (2011-13)

After getting calls from all IIMs last year, I went through a hard time when I didn’t convert any of them. This year with the help of REC, I managed to convert all my calls and am now going to IIM A. Thank you REC.
- Atin Jain, IIM-A (2011-13)

Learning at REC was the best experience in my GD/PI preparation phase. The vast knowledge of Roy sir makes you google search for facts at first. After a few days you realize that you're fighting a losing cause as your time to search is more than what it takes for him to answer.
- Jaydev Doshi, IIM-C (2011-13)

I received a solid grounding in concepts through the lectures at REC.Plus, the guidance of Rohan Sir and Vivek Sir in planning my preparation proved crucial to my success.Thank you, REC, for IIM-C!
- Devavrata G., IIM-C (2011-13)
