Students don’t have any praises for the faculty. On the contrary they dislike them. The teachers are also not highly qualified or have a good amount of experience. The teacher student rapport isn’t particularly good; they’re usually very strict with students and sometimes even act unreasonably.

Kings Engineering College has a massive campus of which a major chuck of land is unutilized. The college building is relatively small when you compare it to other colleges in Chennai. Labs are decently equipped for the first and second years only. Higher years do face crisis but the students themselves are not really bothered about it. College is Wi-Fi enabled but only the third and fourth year students have access to it.

Kings Engineering College was established in 2001 but admissions were not conducted during all the years. Students claim that college hasn’t had any batch pass out yet. And college website doesn’t boast of any companies coming to college. So placement scenario at KEC is pretty obscure.

Kings Engineering College (KEC) is located right by the NH4 near Irungattukottai opposite Hyundai Motors. It is approximately 35 km from the city of Chennai and the main college building is about 500 metres from highway. There are many MTC buses plying here; howeveer almost all the students make use of college buses instead of public transport.

There is no canteen only a mess. Also it is compulsory for students to have mess food, even the day scholars are compelled to do so.

Academically students here don’t perform very well, nor have they performed well earlier hence they landed up here. Only a few of the students are fun loving others are can at times get irritating. Most of the students are from vernacular medium and even if not, they prefer speaking in Tamil. Also there are many Christian students due to the minority quota in place.

There is a cultural festival and a sports festival in the month of Jan. The festival is intercollege for namesake and no students from other college are participating in it. So you can assume it to be intra-college.

Kings Engg Coll is very strict in matters of attendance and discipline. Students are in any case expected to have an attendance higher than 75% else quite strict action shall be take, claim the students. Students can’t stay back in the college premises after 3:30 – hostelites have to be in their hostels whereas day scholars need to head home as soon as the college gets over. Formal dressing with ID card always hung around the neck is a must
